Welcome L-Vis 1990 to the roster!
As L-Vis 1990, James Connolly has been releasing a singular brand of club music free of rules and genres since dropping his eponymous debut EP in 2008. Yes, we understand if you're sceptical—everyone claims to be a rule-breaker these days. But try putting into words the music on his and Bok Bok's inimitable Night Slugs label or any of his tracks and remixes over the past few years and it should quickly become apparent that L-Vis 1990 has been doing things just a little bit differently. Liaison Artists is proud to welcome L-Vis 1990 to the roster!

Welcome Dj Tennis to the roster!
Dj Tennis is Manfredi Romano, born in the 70's and raised between New Jersey, Sicily and Parma. Recording bands, organizing parties and DJ'ing at the tennis club where he used to play as a semi-pro player (the Tennis moniker comes from his passion for that sport) all became his way to support the costs of his studies. During the last 2 decades he started producing music for theatre, movie soundtracks and TV commercials. In 2010, tired of the output of the actual musical scene he decided to collect all of his musical works and, with Thugfucker’s Greg Oreck, to start a new techno and pop label called Life and Death. Tennis is actually based in Berlin where he also shares the label experience and a studio with the innovative deep electronic duo Tale of Us. Liaison Artists is proud to welcome Dj Tennis to the roster!

Welcome Heidi to the roster!
Growing up in Windsor, Ontario Canada, just across the border from Detroit, Heidi had a childhood filled with the sounds of classic rock, blues and folk. It wasn’t long, though, before the sounds of the Motor City and Chicago led her to a deep and lifelong passion for underground dance music.
In 2008, her impeccable tune selection combined with a charismatic and energetic personality landed her a monthly slot on the BBC’s ‘In New DJ’s We Trust’ on Radio 1.
June 2011 saw her release her first highly acclaimed mixed compilation of the same name with exclusive tracks made for her by various well known and unknown dj's and producers who she adores.
A superb DJ and queen of the Jackathon, Heidi continues to stun crowds throughout the world.
Liaison Artists is proud to welcome Heidi to the roster!

Welcome Kate Simko to the roster!
A diverse musician, Kate's projects range from remixing Philip Glass, to composing film scores, to rocking jackin’ DJ sets, and producing her own melodic, Chicago-flavoured take on house and techno. Kate stepped in to the spotlight in 2011, releasing her first full-length album ‘Lights Out’ on Berlin's lauded Hello?Repeat label. She now prepares her new audio-visual live set for 2012, which is hitting London’s Fabric and Europe in April, and then she’ll be taking the tour back to the Americas in May and June. Welcome Wildkats to the roster!
WiLDKATS are a production collective formed in East London when Edinburgh DJs Stuart Sandeman & Scott Dickie met US import Corey Baker. After sharing ideas over a booming warehouse bass bin they decided to get into the studio. Pulling influences from 80s Funk and New York Disco they began to develop their sound; an energetic combination of groove led house and dubby disco with their trademark WiLDKATS bass-line. WiLDKATS are part of a new movement in contemporary house music fusing 80s drums, synths and bass sounds, putting their own funked up stamp on this with their catchy edits and raw dance floor killers. We are proud to invite Wildkats to join our roster family! Read More >

Welcome Nautiluss to the Liaison Artists roster!
Nautiluss is the musical brainchild of Graham Douglas Bertie. In 2011, Graham was plagued by a desire to embark on a new musical journey whose aural aesthetic was one drastically removed from that of his former band Thunderheist (Big Dada). This urge for musical growth and exploration yielded Nautiluss, a project that balances organic and syntheseized sounds. We are thrilled to be able to add Nautiluss to our roster! Read More >

Welcome Aquarius Heaven as Liaison Artist's newest artist!
Aquarius Heaven might be new to the electronic music world, but he is no newcomer to the music scene as such: Aquarius Heaven, born Brian Brewster, is an ex reggae dancehall and hip hop singer. It was pure chance that Brian became involved with the electronic music scene after he moved to Paris in 2005, where he meet the Parisian electronic music trio dOP. After spending hours in the studio with the three musicians, Brian's musical sound was profoundly changed. Yet, we can still hear the colors of the Caribbean in his vocals, and since he is new to the genre, his music is unbound by the old rehashed sounds and limitations of the electronic music scene. All of this creates for a very interesting musical ride.
We are thrilled to announce that Aquarius Heaven has joined our roster! Read More >

The blogosphere anticipates Pillow Talk's upcoming "The Come Back EP" on Life and Death Records
Carefully caressing your back whilst whispering sweet nothings into your ear, PillowTalk join the Life And Death family with their modern dance soul hybrid, "The Come Back EP". Despite the name, it's actually a debut EP -- and one that quickly establishes PillowTalk's unique sound as an important voice in the new generation of contemporary dance music.
Already getting serious play (and props) from a wide range of DJs, from the deep & soulful Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap crews all the way to the banging bass centric Justin Martin, "The Come Back" finds Life and Death once again crossing the conventional genre descriptions with a true dancefloor bomb that everyone can get behind..
Imagine Motown and classic doo-wop blended with a modern dance sensibility and you may start to get an idea of the PillowTalk sound. But it's better to stop imagining and just have a listen because what these guys are doing is so genuinely unique, it's not an easy one to pigeonhole with words and genre titles alone.
The EP includes "The Come Back", "Soft" and "Long Lost Friends" as well as a Life and Death remix of "Soft". Put together in the Life and Death laboratories it brings a darker, deeper take on this beautiful and already incredibly sentimental dancefloor serenade. Read More >

Claude VonStroke releases "Makeovers" remix album on dirtybird
The “Makeovers” CD is a compilation of some of Claude’s best re-twists, some of which are so far removed they can almost be considered original works. This collection was put together with this theme in mind, the remix as an inspiring starting point for an entirely new piece of music. This is not just a grab bag of old remixes thrown together. All of the remixes have been carefully remastered from the original files at Air Studios, London by Matt Colton. Some have even been re-made and edited by Claude to sound better than the first go around. Three of the remixes are brand new only having been just released in May and June of this year. But no matter when or how they were made, from “Warpaint” to “Percolator,” we think you will agree this is a superb collection of productions from one of the most creative remixers in dance music. dOP releases "Afterparty" on Life + Death with Remixes by Clockwork and Le Loup
In just a matter of months, Life and Death has swiftly established itself as purveyors of quality contemporary dance music, made by artists who would undoubtedly make anyone's short list of "Who I'd like to invite to my afterparty". It seems only fitting then that with their newest release they've recruited the undisputed kings of late night mayhem and madness for a paen tribute to that beautiful party after the party, the continuation of all things good and twisted.. the afterparty itself. Not to take the issue of such a joyful celebration lightly, dOP has gone on secret missions over the last 6 months, quietly (and often not so quietly) infiltrating afterparties worldwide and secretly extracting pituitary secretions from the rowdiest party goers at each of them. They then took these secretions, burned them in a special voodoo ceremony and immediately went into the studio to create a fitting tribute to the after-hours festivities we all hold so dear. Once that was complete, friends were invited and even more deviants came to the party for some dirty late night remix action. Clockwork (who's recently released "It's You Again" on Hot Creations has already been the soundtrack to many an after party) are here, french Wolf+Lamb collaborator Le Loup is here, MAS Collective (who recorded on seminal NYC label Strictly Rhythm) is here and Marius & David are here too.. Everybody giving it their own special flavor. What an afterparty indeed. Read More >

Mixtape Sundays is a carefully curated series of mixes from an international cast. Its the music to kick on your weekend right through to the the early hours! Expect crooning nu-disco, big bass and club classics presented on a weekly basis.
Worthy is a producer originally from Washington DC who grew up in the early days of Deep Dish, Scott Henry and the early American rave scene. Worthy started producing house and techno music in San Francisco in 2001 and ever since has remained an integral member of the original gangsters of tech, Dirty Bird records.
In more recent times he has more affluently integrated a new label with his production which in essence produces some of the best 'booty shakin' tech house tracks available to the masses. The label, called Anabatic Records, curates most of Worthy's original tracks as well as collaborations and has a growing global reputation as an up and coming label to look out for.
For any tech house fan who visits Stoney Roads on a regular basis, this mix is a must download. Full of goodies and plenty of Worthy tracks that will shoot your week off to a flying start!

Bruno Pronsato's new album "Lovers Do" reviewed by Resident Advisor
Even as techno moves in and out of fashion, I don't think Bruno Pronsato has anything to worry about. The drummer-turned-producer's intricate textural maps of clicking beats and chiming chords defies trends. With his laborious constructions venturing through unpredictable tangents or breaking out into jazzy sections, there's a feeling of constant movement and shaky energy that means his music never quite stands still. It was a formula that he perfected with his single-track EP The Make Up The Break Up, a stunning lesson in subtle buildup and release, forty minutes of gentle lapping and ebbing that nevertheless worked up enough energy to break out into occasional streaks of blinding sunlight.
This practiced and confident manner extends itself to Pronsato's third album, sounding assured where his darker previous album Why Can't We Be Like Us often sounded like it was mired in its own emotional frustration. With evocative track titles and moving melodies, Lovers Do doesn't seem any less melodramatic, yet it's more coherent, an easier album-length listen. Pronsato's sound isn't as earth-shattering this time around, but it's not about shock and awe: Lovers Do has a way of slowly enveloping a space until everything else just feels inconsequential.
The record begins in typical fashion with "Lovers Don't," a rolling boil of snares and vibes that melt and splinter on impact, the ever-present drama underpinned by orchestral flourishes that loom underneath the choppy sea. From there on out, though, it's not quite business as usual: pre-album single "Anybody But You" centers around a surprisingly straightforward mallet riff, subtly shifting its atmosphere but carefully keeping its centre in those dulcet tones. Its B-side "Feel Right" also makes an appearance on the album, a late-album pick-me-up and straight club jam unlike anything else Steven Ford has made under the Pronsato name in years, bristling with a tech house insistence that feels almost defensively simplistic.
Ford also sometimes sticks to his usual tricks. It's hard not to be absolutely thrilled with the result, though: "Trio-Out" seems disappointingly standard until it's completely saturated by innumerable drum fills, rich, realistic sounds that dot the soundstage like twinkling stars. Ford's best, however, comes when he's out of his comfort zone. "An Indication of the Cause" juggles and fumbles with all sorts of springy and squeaky sounds, like some moss-grown version of Oversteps-era Autechre. It's the only point on the album where Ford sounds like he's just making it up as he goes along, but the IDM-esque abstraction fits him to a tee, casting his sometimes difficult music in a new light that's much easier to understand.
Lovers Do is the kind of compulsive and meticulous refinement you'd expect from someone who makes music like Ford does. Perhaps with the exception of his pristine and beloved drums, every sound—no matter how tiny—is endlessly tweaked and picked apart. But that's what he's always done: Sprawling epics from pin drops and brushed snares, an endless search for something constantly out of reach. He'll probably never get there, but the closer he gets, the luckier we are to witness him searching. Lovers Do is the closest yet. Read More >

Tanner Ross mixes Louche Music Podcast #42
New Jersey born Tanner Ross has been making waves on labels such as Dirty Bird, Freerange, Airdrop and Culprit the past couple of years, and it seems to be paying off now. His career is starting to gain some serious momentum with wax on Double Standard, No.19 and !K7 all set to drop very soon. This mix starts off with a classic joint from the late, great Nate Dogg, and slowly but surely unwinds into an extremely classy, funkified 64 minutes. Liaison Artists Welcomes dOP!
These three arguments are the best words to describe the new band project dOP, which was created by Clement Aichelbaum, Damien Vandesande and Jonathan Illel. All three were born in 1980 and know each other for over 20 years now. The first music project they did together was a rock n roll cover band for the France MusicDay in 1994. Afterwards the guys had many experiences in different music styles like hip-?hop, jazz and reggae, and also started different band projects.
Five years ago they discovered Electronic Music and started immediately composing it in their own style. From this point dOP was born and the first high rated releases and remixes on the labels MilnorModern, Circus Company, Eklo, Orac and Einmaleins followed in 2007 and 2008. Another important and famous person for their development in this business was Nicolas Sfintescu from Nze, because they share the same idea of making organic dance music in the classical way of composing with real instruments and voice. Not only thinking about music, also dividing the studio and sharing instruments is the best way to delineate their relationship between each other.
A special preference of the three guys is their love for collecting instruments such as flutes, horns, percussions, glockenspiele, saxophones and many more. Mostly they're together in the studio and work in a very collective way. This is also a very big tick for the amenity between them, because most of the time they do all things together. Illness is also no reason for not staying together!

Check out new Liaison Artist Maya Jane Coles Featured on XLR8R!!
Maya Jane Coles: A young Londoner infuses tech-house with deep vibes and dubwise sounds.
Twenty-three-year-old London house producer Maya Jane Coles might seem to have appeared out of nowhere, but it looks like she's not going anywhere for a while. Her 2010 single, "What They Say" (Real Tone), exploded upon release, topping DJ charts worldwide and attracting critical and public adoration. It was simple, riveting, and classic: an infectious vocal sample riding a descending organ riff padded with snapping drums, it's the kind of subtle tune that gets stuck in your head for days. "It was definitely a surprise," Coles says about the traction it received. "I've made music that's a lot more personal and special to me, but as an artist you can't really control the success of your tracks, unfortunately!" Read More >

Liaison welcomes Maya Jane Coles !
We are thrilled to welcome her to the Liaison family .
2010 has certainly been the year that 23 year old Maya Jane Coles announced herself as one of the most talented up and coming artists in electronic music.
In the years preceding a steady output of techy cuts on labels such as Dogmatik and 1trax simmered away catching the attention of cluded up heads and savvy A&R people alike.
It was her debut EP on Franck Rogers Real Tone though that ignited the fire of hype and boosted her profile on the global stage receiving heavy support from the house & techno elite.
Aside from being hammered repeatedly on the worlds most happening dance floors 'What They Say' reached the number 1 spot on across the board; Beatport Deep House Chart No. 1, Tarxsource top download & Resident Advisors most charted tracks for October 2010.
Its safe to say the release won the hearts and heads of fans and critics a like and a landmark year was topped off with a nomination for Best Breakthrough Producer in the DJ Mag Best of British awards.
